Who are you kneeling for?

Throughout these past few months tragedies on top of tragedies have happened. A virus has struck the world, people's lives have been taken, cities have been destroyed, homes washed away by immeasurable winds and so much more. The worlds a crazy place right now, and people from all angles are trying to compensate and get their voice to be heard. But what I’ve been witnessing, are people being led in the wrong direction. People being forced to agree with the crowd, or get harmed if they don’t. We’re living among scary and crucial times right now. And it’s no surprise that many of us don’t want to speak up, we’re afraid, I mean, like I’m afraid too! But keep in mind that we're still alive, we’re still breathing, we’re still walking, and talking, we luckily still have time to open up. We have time to make amends, to gain confidence to speak up for injustices and to take a stand for our beliefs. But my question is, are you going to stand for the right things? Are you going to fight for someone who’s worth being praised and talked about? Or are you going to submit yourself to a crowd that only wants to devour you?

Be aware of the lies that may surface, because it’s so easy to fall for a lie even when you know the truth behind it. It’s sketchy stuff, so be aware. At a point in time I would just shut up, listen, and keep on going in that closed in direction. Simply because I didn’t want to challenge a lie or someone's point. I was too scared to be cut off, ignored, and called names, but guess what? It doesn’t matter if I stay quiet or be loud, I’m always gonna be called things! So might as well actually take a stand for what I truly think instead of being called out for unspoken topics. I want to let you know, you can defeat that deafening voice. You can release your thoughts, if they are the truth that is. If you're speaking with no context to what you’re saying, people will be able to knock you off your horse and make you think the opposite than what you really mean. It’s very important to know where you stand and WHY.

Challenge everything that gets published, not a single thing is true unless you can back it up. You should especially back up your findings to the WORD of God. Why? Because to my belief and my faith, Jesus is the truth. Not just because it says in the bible that He’s the way, the truth, and the life. But because I’ve seen Him work in my life. I’ve seen Him be my only sense of comfort when I was all out of sorts. No one right now can tell me that it was just my own self-esteem pulling me out of my darkness, because no, it wasn’t. If I was capable of making myself confident, I would’ve done so from the start. Truth is, I gain that confidence from a higher power than myself. Which is why I will only kneel and I will only bow down to Jesus Christ, my Lord and Saviour. Because He’s someone worth honoring. He’s the real deal. He’s restored my brokenness and made something beautiful. Not people I see on the news, not people I see on the streets, not my friends. Like of course I’ll support you and I’ll be there for you. But I won’t bow down to you and treat you as a savior. I won’t. This is because there will be times in my life where humans will betray me, they’ll talk behind my back, and then come back as if they never did. So why should I honor you like I honor the Lord? My Lord will never leave me! He may have to discipline me, but that’s okay. Because parents discipline their kids so that they will walk in the right direction and not aimlessly in the wrong way.

And hey maybe you’re not so in love with the idea about God or Jesus, but that’s okay. Everyone has their moments of being revealed to truth, no ones trying to bombard you with this new knowledge. But what I want for you to do is at least give it a try. Open your heart and open your mind to a new being. You might just be surprised about what you find. In my terms I found a gracious person, I’ve found someone who stood up and still stands up for me when I feel hurt. To you, He might represent different things. Although the one thing He’ll always have in common for everyone is love and that’s what I want you for you to receive!

To conclude on this kneeling issue. This isn’t a new topic, this discussion dates back to a time before Christ. There were three boys: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and they were brought to King Nebechadnezzar’s land and told to worship his golden statue(This story is found in Daniel 3). They were threatened to be thrown into a fire if they didn’t bow down when told, so what happened? They remained standing! Imagine being told you’ll be thrown into a fire if you don’t comply. That’s some serious stuff, and these guys didn’t even flinch! The amount of Faith and trust these boys must’ve had in God is immeasurable. To be scorched to death in a fire by not obeying an earthly king is beyond terrifying. What’s even crazier, is that these boys said that even if God didn’t deliver them, they would still honor Him. Now c’mon! God has to be extraordinary if these boys had that much trust in Him. And to be honest, it’s true. He is extraordinary, He managed to deliver them from the fire without even a scent of smoke or damage. Now that’s someone I want to be kneeling for and praising. I don’t know about you, but it’s time to take a stand for what you believe in. Stop feeding into a narrative, find the real deal. It’s time for a breakthrough!

Much Love.
