The other day I had a dream. Someone and I were in what seemed like a blank room that had a tree stump in the middle of it. There were some vines hanging but not really any branches.
So I jumped up and started swinging from the vines as did the other person. Then to my surprise I notice there’s like a cover at the top of the tree stump that scales the whole ceiling. I start punching at it, and pieces start falling down, I begin to see the tree branches. So I keep ripping down the bordered ceiling and the branches seem to have fluorescent yellow flowers on them that begin to glow.
I jump to the floor and I look up at the tree, and I’m like, “The tree of life”. But as I’m staring at it, I begin to notice that the other person that was with me is tangled in the vines and the tree begins to lose its glow and appears as it’s dying. I begin shouting, “Believe! You have to believe in order to be untangled! I believe in you, and you need to believe!”
Then what appears as a fairy, is flying next to me all worried observing the situation. Then we’re both there staring and hoping the person stuck in the tree starts to believe.
I then wake up and as I’m speculating the dream I’m thinking, “Okay the tree was covered, so that must be that someone or something doesn’t want the beauty of the tree to be seen. Then when I touch the tree it begins to glow and I’m able to let go and go on with my day. But as the other persons in the tree they get caught up in the vines and the tree begins to die."
Now as I broke up these meanings this is what I got:
Covered tree: the truth about Jesus is hidden away so that the enemy can use lies to his advantage
Fluorescent yellow leaves: the Gospel is a bright light and defeats darkness
Person stuck in tree: the unbeliever who lets the worries of this world overtake him
Dying tree: the world when it choses to listen to it's own ways rather than follow truth
Fairy: the angel in disguise who comes to watch over you when you're lost
All these things came to lead me to the conclusion that the word can't be hidden, and you're meant to spread it.
"You are the light of the world - like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden." Matthew 5:14
That truth should win out. Because when you know the truth, you can't be engulfed by all the lies that come at you. You'll be able to know the difference between the good and the bad and be able to live a life of hope and trust. For God will never fail you nor abandon you.
"And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." John 8:32
"So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don't get tied up again in slavery to the law." Galatians 5:1
All concluding that the world can try to sweep you into all it's juicy goodness it has to offer. But the real offer on the table is salvation. Where you will be able to live a joyful, worthy, and everlasting life. In this way you won't be caught in all the temptatoins of the world, enslaved to what they offer. But rather you will be free through Christ who paid the penalty for your sins. So start believing, start doing some soul searching, find where your heart lies, then you'll know that life on your own isn't the way to go. But life alongside the One who loves you is the greatest story of all.
Much love
