It’s Hard

It’s hard to stand strong when the enemy tells you lies that you’re non-existent. It’s hard to remember how much you’re loved when you’re in the midst of an abrupt, confusing situation.

But although it’s hard, I know I can’t stay in the pain that comes when I’m swept into the tidal waves. Instead, I keep reaching, I keep swimming, I keep looking ahead to the shoreline where safety is.

The place where I can be grounded. The place where God meets me in my despair with hopeful eyes and says, “Come into my arms child, I am the one who’s really got you. If only you trust me, you would see how worthy you are to me and to the ones who really love you.”

Jesus came and suffered so we wouldn’t have to feel forgotten or be forgotten. He came to conquer. He came to restore. He came to pour out his love, pour out his blood, all so that we might be saved.

““For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.”

‭‭John‬ ‭3:16-17‬ ‭

Yess. Pain hurts. Rejections never pretty. But, there’s hope. You and I have a redeemer who calls us by our names. And the Lord just wishes we turn to Him for once and not the world He’s created.

“That is why the Lord says, “Turn to me now, while there is time. Give me your hearts. Come with fasting, weeping, and mourning. Don’t tear your clothing in your grief, but tear your hearts instead.” Return to the Lord your God, for he is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. He is eager to relent and not punish.”

‭‭Joel‬ ‭2:12-13‬ ‭

He wants my attention. He wants your attention. Especially in the times when we definitely don’t want to give it to Him. But I know, that if I do, if we do. We will grow. We will experience peace. True peace. And the more we surrender and run into His arms and His word, the more we learn and accept that we’re wanted. Really wanted, and not forgotten, not even the slightest.

It’s hard to stand strong when the enemy tells you lies that you’re non-existent. But guess what, God holds all the power that the enemy wishes he had. For God’s hand is with us. He upholds us. And He won’t ever let us go.

“The Lord will hold you in his hand for all to see— a splendid crown in the hand of God. Never again will you be called “The Forsaken City” or “The Desolate Land.” Your new name will be “The City of God’s Delight” and “The Bride of God,” for the Lord delights in you and will claim you as his bride.”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭62:3-4‬ ‭
